Dear ACS Parents,
It is with pleasure that I update you on our approach to Parent Teacher Day. Our teachers are excited and proud to introduce you to the 2023-2024 school year. For those of you who are new to ACS, Parent Teacher Day is one of many events dedicated to building home-school relationships.
Parent Teacher Day is divided into two parts. The first part is an online portion, beginning Thursday, October 5. The second part is an in person event that will take place on Saturday, October 7.
The first part, the online portion of Parent Teacher Day, is designed to introduce you to your child’s teachers and to inform you of course expectations and instructional goals. On Thursday, you will receive a message from Tanya Assenova, our Registrar, through Engage, with presentations by your child’s teachers as well as information about Saturday's schedule.
The second portion of Parent Teacher Day takes place on Saturday, October 7. On this day, we will welcome you to campus from 10:30-12:30 for the actual Parent Teacher Day. The goal of this event is to provide time for you to interact informally with your child’s classroom teachers and program areas of interest. Departments will be in different locations across campus, allowing you to move freely to meet this exceptional group of educators. As you move from one department or program to another, you will also have the opportunity to meet parents. We know that this is important.
A Parent Ambassador area will be set up in front of the fountain. Here, you can meet other parents and learn more about the important role of parents within our community. I thank each of you for your consideration.
To close, this year, like every year, is one that will bring countless opportunities to grow and to connect as a community. For our students, one such opportunity is Flag Day, October 18. You will receive an email from the Dean’s Office later this week describing this day in greater detail. Included in this email will be a permission slip.
