ACS Student Clubs Start the School Year with Fresh Ideas
October 20, 2025 -- At the American College of Sofia education extends far beyond textbooks and classrooms. Guided by the school’s core values of Responsibility, Integrity, and Respect, students are encouraged not only to develop intellect and character, but also to apply critical thinking and lead with purpose. This philosophy comes vividly to life again through close 120 student clubs and activities that enrich daily life on campus this school year.
From Experimental Chemistry and Filmmaking to Sports Journalism, Green Impact, and Future Innovators, ACS clubs reflect the diversity of interests and aspirations within the student body. Some nurture creativity and expression, others focus on service and sustainability, while many cultivate their curiosity and strengthen their teamwork skills. Together, they form a vibrant environment where learning connects seamlessly to real-world challenges and passions, using the knowledge and skills that stay with them long after graduation.
Many clubs also build bridges to the wider community and the world. Groups like Interact and Helping Hand focus on volunteerism and social responsibility, while European Youth Parliament and International Relations engage students in global dialogue and diplomacy. Environmental initiatives such as Keep Our Planet Alive and Green Life Activity promote sustainability both on and off campus. And through clubs like Junior Achievement & Future Leaders, students translate innovation into entrepreneurship, preparing for future academic and professional success.
This abundance of student-led initiatives mirrors the College’s belief that education should inspire curiosity, responsibility, and action. Just as ACSers tackle complex questions in class — connecting ideas across disciplines and applying knowledge to solve real problems — their extracurricular pursuits challenge them to lead with vision and compassion. Bulgarian and international teachers at ACS support and inspire students both inside and outside the classroom. The result is a community that values both high standards and engagement that is meaningful and purposeful.
In an environment that combines tradition and innovation, ACS continues to uphold its 165-year mission of fostering lifelong learners and responsible leaders. Each student club, whether exploring linguistics, music, technology, or service, is part of this larger story — one where young people learn to unite knowledge, creativity, and integrity to make a difference in the world.
