ACS Students Participate in MUN Conference in Athens
March 24, 2026 --- We are proud to celebrate the success of our Model United Nations (MUN) team following their participation in the 9th edition of the American College of Greece MUN Conference (ACGMUN), held from February 27 to March 1, 2026, at the Pierce-American College of Greece in Athens. The delegation was chaperoned by our teachers Dr. Zornitsa Semkova and Dr. Nevena Georgieva.
Our 10 delegates from Grades 8 through 11 stepped into the shoes of diplomats representing the United States of America and Ukraine. Across three days of intense debate, they tackled some of the world’s most pressing issues in a wide array of committees. Participants in the General Assembly included: Kaloyan Toshev (GA1 – Disarmament), Christian Cenkov (GA3 – Social/Humanitarian), Boris Cenkov (GA4 – Special Political), and Konstantin Govedarov (GA6 – Legal).
Furthermore, ACS delegates worked in several specialized agencies: David Nikolov (Human Rights Council), Ivaylo Ashkov (Economic & Social Council), Victoria Dimitrova (Security Council), Karina Manolova (World Health Organization), Deya Chavdarova (Environmental Commission), and Amira Fatahi (Maritime Safety Committee).
As a THIMUN (The Hague International MUN) Affiliated Conference, ACGMUN challenged our students to uphold high standards of academic excellence and international collaboration among hundreds of students from over 10 countries, fostering meaningful dialogue and practicing the art of compromise. Their work was the result of weeks of rigorous research and preparation. Beyond the resolutions and policy statements, our students made new friends with peers from across Europe.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our attentive hosts at the Pierce-American College of Greece for their hospitality and for organizing such an ambitious and inspiring event.
Congratulations to all our delegates for their professionalism and passion!
