An ACS Alumni Connection Across Generations
October 7, 2026 --- On September 23, ACS welcomed the family of Zlatka Vlaycheva (later Alice Litov), Class of 1942. Her son, Dr. Richard Litov, an American living in Indiana, and his cousins shared how much his mother valued her years at ACS. She devoted two chapters of her book "From Dawn to Daylight - My life in Bulgaria" to her time at the College and the experiences that helped shape her life.
Decades after ACS closed its doors in 1942 and reopened in the 1990s, her family returned to the campus, quite literally following in the footsteps of their relatives. Their visit offered a connection to a place that has remained an important part of their family story.
Visits like this remind us that the ACS community extends beyond the years students spend on campus. Alumni connections are carried through family memories, shared stories and relationships that can continue across generations.
We are grateful to our guests for bringing a piece of ACS history back to campus and for helping us connect the College’s past with its present.
