ACS Student Brings 8 Dance Medals Home
Congratulations, Valentina Ilieva!
Congrats to ACS tenth grader Valentina Ilieva for her dance triumphs!
Over the last two weeks, Valentina won two big dance competitions and returned with a total of 8 medals, 3 Grand Prix titles, 2 Gala Invitations, and an award for one of the biggest competitions for the season.
The first competition she participated in was "Magic World" in Haskovo where she made her debut in improvisation and jazz. Valentina took second place in lyrical and secured two first places for her contemporary performance "A Deal with Chaos" and jazz piece "Dancing in the Rain". We bet the audience could feel the beat through every step!
The rhythms didn’t stop there! After the grand award ceremony, Valentina and her dance studio were given two Grand Prix titles (one in jazz and one in musical) and were invited to the Gala of the competition, which is a prestigious concert. Only about 20 of more than 600 dance pieces were picked by the jury - an honor indeed!
With barely a moment to catch their breath, Valentina and her team headed to Veliko Tarnovo for the Balkan Dance Spartakiade. There, competing with world champions and a series of talented dancers, Valentina took the first-place title for her lyrical piece "Lament of Love", followed by another Gala and Grand Prix recognition.
Then, as Valentina says, “came the most surreal moment of the whole competition: my dance studio and I received the award for the Balkan Dance Spartakiade.”
Congrats and keep on dancing!
