Flowers for Mother’s Day

The second Sunday in May is Mother’s Day in America. Children in the “English through Art” program planted flowers to honor their mothers. They also learned some new vocabulary and grammar to go along with this theme. In the art class they drew and colored pictures of flowers, caterpillars and butterflies.

Our new program “English through Art” was implemented by External Programs Office in April. The aim of the program is to educate finesse in communications and stimulate creativeness. Children who regularly attend the language programs offered by ACS have joined the program. Some new families were also interested, attracted by the friendly atmosphere in class. Barbara Beachey, English Language Teacher, and Issay Penchev, Art Teacher, develop their own art projects in which they involve the children.
