Good News from the National Round of the Astronomy Olympiad

Our tenth grader Konstantin Karchev ranked third in the country in the national round of the Astronomy Olympiad held in Kardzhali this past weekend (April 13-14).

The olympiad is carried out in two parts whereby competitors solve 3 theoretical problems on the first day and work on a practical problem on the second.

Next, Konstantin will take part in a summer school where the final representative team for the International Astronomy Olympiad in Lithuania will be selected.

Senior Mihaela Zaharieva became sixth in her age group and hereby the first runner-up for the national team. Eleventh grader Todor Manev scored very well, too and ranked eleventh.

Congratulations to our students and their science teachers for this success! We join the ACS science teachers in wishing Konstantin the best of luck and in knowing he will be on the International Astronomy Olympiad in Lithuania this summer!
