Within the “Partners for Media Education: Seminar for Schools, Alumni Educators and Parents”, on Friday, May 10, the American College of Sofia hosted a session dedicated to “Integrating Media literacy in the curriculum”. ACS President Dr. Richard Tucker Ewing Jr. and Deputy Director Maria Angelova welcomed the 25 participants. For this part of the seminar history teachers at ACS Vasil Ninov Ph. D. and Yoanna Ninova presented some of the best practices in their curricula and extracurricular activities. They highlighted the activities aimed at supporting students in developing critical thinking skills, habits for sources and facts checking, and mechanisms for avoiding psychological pitfalls that tend to make audiences and individuals more prone to falling for false news.

“Partners for Media Education: Seminar for Schools, Alumni Educators and Parents” takes place with the support of the Embassy of the United States in Bulgaria and aims to increase media literacy in schools through working with educators and parents in the exchange of experience, resources, and good practices in media education for children.
