Science Olympiad Winners from ACS Meet with President Plevneliev

On January 29, 2015, the Fourth Olympic Meeting of the members of the National Student Science Teams with Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev took place. Two ACSers were among the honored students - Konstantin Karchev, an ACS senior and a silver medal winner at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics, and Ivan Ivanov, a 9th Grader and a silver medal winner at the 8th Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics.

Rosen Plevneliev congratulated the young scientists at a ceremony in the Central Hall of the National Archeological Museum. It was announced that with every passing year the number of medals won by Bulgarian students increases:   last year the Bulgarian National Science Teams won 61 medals and 7 certificates of honor. In his speech President Plevneliev also acknowledged the educators of the national science teams for their hard work through the years.

Another ACS student with a great achievement in Science last year was Viktor Kouzmanov. Viktor won a bronze medal at the International Physics Olympiad in July 2014. Upon graduating from ACS in May 2014, Viktor continued his education at University of Cambridge.
