ACS Charity Fashion Show Raised 6,500 Leva

On March 21 the World of Fashion and PR Club at the American College of Sofia organized a charitable review-spectacle called “The Art of Giving” for the second year in a row. The event took place in Paradise Center. Last year the club fundraised 3,500 leva for the renovation of the Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Oncology in Sofia. This year’s fashion show fundraised 6,500 leva that will be donated to The School Institute of Mathematics and Informatics (SIMI) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).

The main aim of the SIMI is to create one more opportunity for discovery, development, and talent expression for students who are naturally interested in an in-depth study of mathematics and informatics. The participation of Bulgarian students in international competitions requires not only in-depth knowledge in the given field, but also funding. The fundraised amount of 6,500 leva will allow talented Bulgarian students to travel and represent our country at international tournaments.

24 students took part in the fashion show. The highlight of the evening was the appearance of 11 ACS teachers on the stage. Over 300 guests supported the charity fashion show by donating money to the noble cause. We thank the World of Fashion and PR Club with president Tomislava Tomova, vice-president Emily Masheva, and adviser Borislava Kirilova for their hard work and wish them good luck!
