Dreams of 30 Cents: The New Issue of The Fountain Literary Journal

The Fountain Journal is the ACS student literary magazine produced by the student club with the same name that serves as its editorial team along with Bulgarian Language and Literature teachers Teodora Todorova, Milka Getskovska, Malinka Tonova, and Nikolay Tasev. The Fountain is issued twice a year, in winter and in early summer. Every issue has a theme which becomes its name. Students are invited to send in their literary writing pieces inspired by the theme, in poetry and prose and also illustrations, one chosen illustration among them adorning the magazine’s cover.

Last Monday, the winter issue, themed Dreams of 30 Cents! came out, just in time to help the community send off the winter. It offers poetry and prose, in Bulgarian and English, as well as columns on new and classic books, movies, and theater performances, student illustrations, and an interview with musician Stoyan Yankulov - Stundji. Also featured in this issue with original pieces in English is The ACS Creative Writing Club.

Congratulations to the three students who won the Dreams of 30 Cents! writing contest: Anna Doncheva - first place, Viktoria Karaivanova - second place, and Maria Shivikova - third! Congratulations also to senior Teodora Miteva whose illustration is on the cover! And last but not least, congratulations to the 15 students on The Fountain Journal team, including club presidents Teodora Miteva and Vyara Tabakova, and to their devoted advisors.
